It Feels like it has been forever.

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog, and well that is officially over tonight, I am back at it, from now until February and beyond.  Since my last post I have dived deep into Camp Gladiator and loving it, I have definitely gained the extra strength through these boot camp classes and reaching my all around goals in running and fitness.  Since my last blog, we ran the East Lake Fire Rescue 5k, I love this event it is definitely a community race, with lots of kids and parents and firefighters out there for a good cause.  I ran a good first 2 miles and lost some gas in the 3rd mile, I need to figure out what is going on there, but I and always making changes and my run better.  My mom who ran with me as always came in 2nd on her age group and I keep climbing in my age bracket.  I never really done this to place but maybe one day top 10 will be in my sites.. This past weekend I kind of slipped on the running, but I will be back at it this week and weekend...

Training training and more training

Finally getting a change to write my blog from last week.  Sometimes life gets in the way of that.  I finished my first full week of camp gladiator, and it felt great and refreshing.  It is awesome to be doing something different and shaking things up.  I of course went to my Aaptiv app to take classes and get me through some works.  As also they the music and coaches get me through the workout, I can only imagine how long it takes to prepared a class and have the music timed to nicely.  It is definitely helping me get through the workouts. I also ran the Glam run 5K this weekend,  I came in 18th out of 47th that isn't bad considering how I have placed in other races.  I have been coming in the better half of the running age groups, so I am definitely doing something right with all the training that I have been and the extra work that I have been putting in.  Bring on the next 5k this week for East Lake Fire Rescue, it should be a good run ...

Sunday.... lets begin the week off on a good note

I wasn't sure when I went to bed last night if I was going to run this morning,  I wasn't feeling very well my stomach was yelling at me last night.  After trying to relax I was able to fall asleep but tossed and turned most of the night.  Well that being said, I laced up the saucony's and hit the pavement to get this run in.  It was a bit rough from all the energy I put into yesterdays PB&J 5k but I knew I had to hit the pavement and keep going.  I went a head and used the Aaptiv app to do a tempo run and some sprints.  My legs did want to give in at some point but I kept moving forward, I was getting 6 plus miles in today no matter what......  We did run through Safety Harbor down to Gulf to Bay and then across to Del Oro Park and back to downtown Safety Harbor.  There were quite of few runners this morning, but not as many as on a Saturday.   My legs were pretty sore from my push yesterday, but I also worked 7 hours yesterday afternoon...

PB&J 5K

AHHH Saturday and back to racing....  That hurricane named Irma really threw things off track, but I am back at and focused.  I was hoping for at 33:00 finish time but it was 34:22, only I few more seconds then my last 5k.  I will take it, the bridge did me in on the way back a bit, I am used to running out to the beach and then back so there is usually a bit of a break on the hitting that hill twice.  All and all it was a good race and very organized for a 1st annual race.  So on to more training and the next race on October 7th, Pretty n Pink 5k.  If I haven't said I love running with family and friends it makes things so much fun..  Stay cool and I will be hitting the road in the morning......

Bring on PB&J

It has been a busy crazy week....  Lots going on especially preparing for my 5k in the morning.  This will the 1st annual PB&J Race in Clearwater, so this should be a good one.  I did some a lot of double workouts this week, building strength in my legs.  As always did you use the Aaptiv workouts along with some of my own experience this week.  I swear by the classes and the instructors they really make you work for what you want......  I like the challenges and never though I would be do a stair climber backwards.  Through all this I have managed to drop a solid 5 pounds and keep it off which helps with the running in the end. I will be making sure that add my results from Athlinks, it is so nice to have all your information in one place.  I love the homepage where I have my best times in each category from 5k to 10k and more.  It is great to check it all out at once.  Here is the link to check out https://accounts.athlinks...
