Training training and more training

Finally getting a change to write my blog from last week.  Sometimes life gets in the way of that.  I finished my first full week of camp gladiator, and it felt great and refreshing.  It is awesome to be doing something different and shaking things up.  I of course went to my Aaptiv app to take classes and get me through some works.  As also they the music and coaches get me through the workout, I can only imagine how long it takes to prepared a class and have the music timed to nicely.  It is definitely helping me get through the workouts. I also ran the Glam run 5K this weekend,  I came in 18th out of 47th that isn't bad considering how I have placed in other races.  I have been coming in the better half of the running age groups, so I am definitely doing something right with all the training that I have been and the extra work that I have been putting in.  Bring on the next 5k this week for East Lake Fire Rescue, it should be a good run ...

Camp Gladiator Day one and two

What a week this has been.  When I was at the race on Saturday they had tables with vendors as they always do, the Camp Gladiator was there, I will say that I won a free membership for a session last year and went, but wasn't that impressed with the coach and her plan.  Well they were running a special so my mom and I decided to try this out again with a new instructor.  They are letting us start a bit early before the next session starts, which is great we get a little but more of the experience.  Monday was definitely different but the routines and the coach were awesome and couldn't wait to go back on Wednesday.  Well I did go back on Wednesday and the experience was just as good as Monday, so I will continue through the program and get just a little bit more fit.  Along with the Camp Gladiator I am doing my regular workout routines and running.  The lunch time crew still goes forward daily with the workouts, it is so great to have someone to workou...

Sunday.... lets begin the week off on a good note

I wasn't sure when I went to bed last night if I was going to run this morning,  I wasn't feeling very well my stomach was yelling at me last night.  After trying to relax I was able to fall asleep but tossed and turned most of the night.  Well that being said, I laced up the saucony's and hit the pavement to get this run in.  It was a bit rough from all the energy I put into yesterdays PB&J 5k but I knew I had to hit the pavement and keep going.  I went a head and used the Aaptiv app to do a tempo run and some sprints.  My legs did want to give in at some point but I kept moving forward, I was getting 6 plus miles in today no matter what......  We did run through Safety Harbor down to Gulf to Bay and then across to Del Oro Park and back to downtown Safety Harbor.  There were quite of few runners this morning, but not as many as on a Saturday.   My legs were pretty sore from my push yesterday, but I also worked 7 hours yesterday afternoon...

Tuesday Back to Work

AHH...  Tuesday and it was a cross training day. I did get my butt out of bed and put a disc in the DVD player and hit a 30 minute cardio and 30 minute strength training workout with Real Appeal.  These are DVD's based on a weight lose program, but they are great in helping with my overall training.  There are 5 different levels, and I have made it to level 4 and they really kick my butt.  The cardio and strength training really work your core muscle groups .  I love to sweat... I also dd my regular lunch time workout, I hit the elliptical for 35 minutes and then did some great stretching exercises.  I definitely need to concentrate on the stretching and not getting hurt.  I love that I have the option of working out at lunchtime to add to my overall workout schedule.  These workouts really make me feel great.  I hit the stairclimber for 35 minutes using my Aaptiv app and I also did 9 minutes stretching exercises as well...  I really l...

Over the Hump.......

It is now time to catch up on my workout for today.....  Lunch hour arrived and down we headed to the gym, gym bags in hand, bcaa's(from ideal fit), water bottles, and towels.....  So I hurried up and changed into my gym clothes, hopped on that treadmill, and started the Aaptiv app and turned on the Pop 2K Push with Rochelle M. and off I was on 36 minutes of intervals, inclines, tempo runs and just pure fun.  I loved this class, it kept me focused on my running and  my form.  The playlist for this class was fantastic some classic dance music, that I could sing to in my head while I was concentrating on my run.  Rochelle M.  keeps you motivated the entire time and it helped in hitting my stride and want to keep going and not lower the speed on that treadmill.  My ultimate goal is to gain speed and stamina and this class will definitely help with that. In no time I will reach my first goal....  Focusing on my race next Sunday in Clearwater. ...

The Beginning:

August 6, 20017 Happy Sunday Everyone, I decided to write about my running journey to the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 27, 2017.  I share any tips I may have and everything that I have learned through my own experiences.  Today we began at the bottom of Clearwater Memorial Bridge, made our way down to the beach and over the Sand Key Bridge to the park entrance and back.  It was a rough run, but I ran both bridges on the way out but had to walk the Clearwater Bridge on the way back.  Little challenges with the heat, but I kept at and will keep at it.  I have attached my water so pictures so you can see about the progress the run.  I always travel with my water belt in hand and my wireless head phones as well....  The water belt always has gatorade and water, and I try to make sure I take frequent breaks to get both in especially while training...  Well enjoy your Sunday and lets see whats next.  Mom making her way do...
