It Feels like it has been forever.

I feel like I have been neglecting my blog, and well that is officially over tonight, I am back at it, from now until February and beyond.  Since my last post I have dived deep into Camp Gladiator and loving it, I have definitely gained the extra strength through these boot camp classes and reaching my all around goals in running and fitness.  Since my last blog, we ran the East Lake Fire Rescue 5k, I love this event it is definitely a community race, with lots of kids and parents and firefighters out there for a good cause.  I ran a good first 2 miles and lost some gas in the 3rd mile, I need to figure out what is going on there, but I and always making changes and my run better.  My mom who ran with me as always came in 2nd on her age group and I keep climbing in my age bracket.  I never really done this to place but maybe one day top 10 will be in my sites.. This past weekend I kind of slipped on the running, but I will be back at it this week and weekend...

Training training and more training

Finally getting a change to write my blog from last week.  Sometimes life gets in the way of that.  I finished my first full week of camp gladiator, and it felt great and refreshing.  It is awesome to be doing something different and shaking things up.  I of course went to my Aaptiv app to take classes and get me through some works.  As also they the music and coaches get me through the workout, I can only imagine how long it takes to prepared a class and have the music timed to nicely.  It is definitely helping me get through the workouts. I also ran the Glam run 5K this weekend,  I came in 18th out of 47th that isn't bad considering how I have placed in other races.  I have been coming in the better half of the running age groups, so I am definitely doing something right with all the training that I have been and the extra work that I have been putting in.  Bring on the next 5k this week for East Lake Fire Rescue, it should be a good run ...

Happy Sunday to all!  Today was a fantastic day, my mo, grandpa and I rant he Pretty and Pink 5k and 10k in Clearwater.  With a 7:15 am start it called for an early morning.....  for all of us.  Well it was a great run for me and I did manage to maintain at 10:11 minute mile for the first 3 miles and choose to back down just a little bit because I didn't want to tire myself out completely and those energy because I still wanted to PR.  I managed to shave 9 minutes off my last 10k time, was I super excited with all the hard work I have been putting in and to see the overall results, this was amazing to me....  I pushed myself like I have never pushed myself before.... My grandfather who is 81 years old place 1st in his age group and my mom 2nd place in her 10k age group.  I was number 9 out of 18 right in the middle of the pack..  Good thing I hustled in the end because there were 9 other women that were all on my heels and they came in pretty quic...

Running running and more workouts

It always seems that as the week begins the weekend is here and that I have let the blog get away from.  This week was filled with lots of running, Camp Gladiator and hitting the gym with the girls at work and with a friend after work.  I have been keeping up with my tempo runs and sprints runs so keep a steady pace and work at decreasing my time for the races.  I can feel slowly that I am progressively getting faster and my stride has also improved, all important in my mission to become a better runner and my over all fitness health... Some positives for this week were that I went to the doctors and I am down 20 pounds from this same time last year which is wonderful.  I can definitely see the changes in my body and physical appearance all the way around.  So here is to keeping my activity up and facing all the challenges ahead with a smile on my face. Well tomorrow brings the Pretty n Pink 10K, in Clearwater, can't wait to see what my time will be.  ...
