Camp Gladiator Day one and two

Image
What a week this has been.  When I was at the race on Saturday they had tables with vendors as they always do, the Camp Gladiator was there, I will say that I won a free membership for a session last year and went, but wasn't that impressed with the coach and her plan.  Well they were running a special so my mom and I decided to try this out again with a new instructor.  They are letting us start a bit early before the next session starts, which is great we get a little but more of the experience.  Monday was definitely different but the routines and the coach were awesome and couldn't wait to go back on Wednesday.  Well I did go back on Wednesday and the experience was just as good as Monday, so I will continue through the program and get just a little bit more fit.  Along with the Camp Gladiator I am doing my regular workout routines and running.  The lunch time crew still goes forward daily with the workouts, it is so great to have someone to workou...

Sunday.... lets begin the week off on a good note

I wasn't sure when I went to bed last night if I was going to run this morning,  I wasn't feeling very well my stomach was yelling at me last night.  After trying to relax I was able to fall asleep but tossed and turned most of the night.  Well that being said, I laced up the saucony's and hit the pavement to get this run in.  It was a bit rough from all the energy I put into yesterdays PB&J 5k but I knew I had to hit the pavement and keep going.  I went a head and used the Aaptiv app to do a tempo run and some sprints.  My legs did want to give in at some point but I kept moving forward, I was getting 6 plus miles in today no matter what......  We did run through Safety Harbor down to Gulf to Bay and then across to Del Oro Park and back to downtown Safety Harbor.  There were quite of few runners this morning, but not as many as on a Saturday.   My legs were pretty sore from my push yesterday, but I also worked 7 hours yesterday afternoon...

PB&J 5K

AHHH Saturday and back to racing....  That hurricane named Irma really threw things off track, but I am back at and focused.  I was hoping for at 33:00 finish time but it was 34:22, only I few more seconds then my last 5k.  I will take it, the bridge did me in on the way back a bit, I am used to running out to the beach and then back so there is usually a bit of a break on the hitting that hill twice.  All and all it was a good race and very organized for a 1st annual race.  So on to more training and the next race on October 7th, Pretty n Pink 5k.  If I haven't said I love running with family and friends it makes things so much fun..  Stay cool and I will be hitting the road in the morning......

Bring on PB&J

It has been a busy crazy week....  Lots going on especially preparing for my 5k in the morning.  This will the 1st annual PB&J Race in Clearwater, so this should be a good one.  I did some a lot of double workouts this week, building strength in my legs.  As always did you use the Aaptiv workouts along with some of my own experience this week.  I swear by the classes and the instructors they really make you work for what you want......  I like the challenges and never though I would be do a stair climber backwards.  Through all this I have managed to drop a solid 5 pounds and keep it off which helps with the running in the end. I will be making sure that add my results from Athlinks, it is so nice to have all your information in one place.  I love the homepage where I have my best times in each category from 5k to 10k and more.  It is great to check it all out at once.  Here is the link to check out https://accounts.athlinks...

Back to the Grind...

So happy for it to be Sunday and a new week and getting back to the grind, after a hurricane last weekend and trying to get the house cleaned, it was time to refocus on working out , running and my diet....  I was able to get a few workouts in last week with access to the gym from a friend, which made the week go by just a little bit faster.  Getting the cardio and weights in really helped. This morning was a little rough, I think I could hear my legs yelling at me, I started with a upbeat Tempo run to get the zone and maintain a run for 3 miles,  I have PB&J  5k next weekend and I want to make sure that I have my tempo and the stamina all set.  After my 30 minute Tempo run, I switched to Aaptiv and worked on sprints for 45 minutes.  30 second on and off, 1 minute on and off and then 90 seconds on and off.  I did this each separate interval 4 times and repeated the routine 2 times. Needless to say the legs were on fire.  It was great to be...

Hurricane Irma... Getting those workouts in

Hello readers, I know it has been a few days, well about a week from my last post, but this Hurricane called Irma really kind of messed things up.  I tired to improvise workouts last week in between, trying to get the house ready for what was coming.  I did go to the Aaptiv app for a lot of my workouts because they are classes that I can do at home with the weights that I have here.  I hated that I did get my hands in some junk food including M&M's ugh, those are now off my list of foods to eat for the foreseeable future lol.  I need to go back to my meal planning and eating right and my workout schedule and routine.  My race scheduled for Septembers 10th Hooters to Hooters 10k, was canceled...  Oh well they will reschedule and I will get that 10k completed soon enough. Now on to my PB&J 5k on September 23rd.  I have to keep trudging on and moving forward.  I have no pictures post I sent them to my email from my phone and they are gone and...

Tuesday Back to Work

AHH...  Tuesday and it was a cross training day. I did get my butt out of bed and put a disc in the DVD player and hit a 30 minute cardio and 30 minute strength training workout with Real Appeal.  These are DVD's based on a weight lose program, but they are great in helping with my overall training.  There are 5 different levels, and I have made it to level 4 and they really kick my butt.  The cardio and strength training really work your core muscle groups .  I love to sweat... I also dd my regular lunch time workout, I hit the elliptical for 35 minutes and then did some great stretching exercises.  I definitely need to concentrate on the stretching and not getting hurt.  I love that I have the option of working out at lunchtime to add to my overall workout schedule.  These workouts really make me feel great.  I hit the stairclimber for 35 minutes using my Aaptiv app and I also did 9 minutes stretching exercises as well...  I really l...
