Sundays a bust and the work week begins...

Image
Well leaving in Florida can be challenging at this time of the year with the weather.  Sunday morning was one of those days, do we head out and run and try to beat the rain or workout at home.  Well it looked like it would clear so we headed to Safety Harbor and started running towards John Chestnut Park and as I was getting into my grove, it started to drizzle and a fellow runner that we know well was on there way home came to get us.  So home we went and we decided to at least get some cross training done because I didn't want to waste the day and not complete any work out at all......  So out came the Dvd's and we completed a cardio workout with Real Appeal and also a kettle ball workout with Jillian Michael's, at least I got my sweat on.....  Monday and Tuesday at lunch I went to my Apativ app and completed A Stair-climber and Elliptical workout, and also core workout.  I really am getting good at those planks and my core.  I know from all the read...

Hitting my Stride....

I so enjoy running in Safety Harbor, there are so many runners out there, from just one person running by themselves, group of friends, or one of the various running groups in this area.  It is always so calm and peacefully and everyone says hi and waves or gives you that head nod.  Even on Saturday mornings, we are talking 6:00 am, there are many people out there.  My running buddy and I hit the pavement towards Gulf to Bay Blvd, generally our go to route, there is always plenty of room on the side walk.  Of course as it had been the last few Saturdays there were definitely clouds and lightning in the distance.  My mom kept watching them, I kept in the zone, and kept running.  Eventually the skies cleared and it was a beautiful run.  We did 5 miles today, I think I could have done a bit more if the time would have let it.  We have Hooters to Hooters  10k in a few weeks, so we have to be prepared for that race, with all the little changes I h...

AAAH!!! It is Friday.......

What I long week this has been, I also thought that going into it this was the long weekend and I had Monday off as well no such luck there.  Today I used as a cross training day and focused on the stair climber and my core.  I am going to put some more into my core.  Just trying to get my body and mind all focused on my running and having good form and focus.  I did a 18 minutes stair climber workout with Rochelle M, with the music and the intervals of I loved it.  It was called Heavy HIITers, the music was fantastic as well the cues on  the intervals are spot on.  I then choose to do the EMOM core Work with Meghan T. this was 8 minutes of pure pain, lol well I mean adrenaline because I had to push myself to the max to get this one done.  I then did a 6 minute stretch with Rochelle M., again because I know that I have to focus on my stretching.  Well I can't wait to get my run in tomorrow morning,  it always feels so good, I get this re...

The Weekend is Almost here......

Hello Everyone,  Its been a few days, you all must know how it is, it is like the entire day goes by and before you know it is time for sleep.  I again went the last few days to the Aaptive app for some additional exercise,  I worked on the stair climber and a strength and toning exercise that covers the entire body.  I am loving getting the extra workouts in along with my running.  Hoping to start getting those weekday early morning runs in so I can balance everything out again.  Today's workout was a killer I did the Aaptiv App with Rochelle M. and it was intervals from as low as 5 miles per hour to 7 miles per hour, I am amazed at how far I have come with my personal running goals.  I so can't wait for the Hooters to Hooters 10k on September 10, 2017....  Definitely hoping to hit a really good time with this race.  The last few days I also played witth Athlinks the https://athlinks.com, and I was able to all those local races, that I ...

Happy Monday

Image
Happy Monday to all, it was a little rough getting up this morning,  I definitely pushed myself for the 5k on Sunday and was feeling it today.  Sometimes no matter how much stretching and how much water intake and how much you do everything right you still may feel it the next day.  I didn't take a rest day though, I did take a rest from the legs but I worked on some upper body this lunch hour.  I focused on my biceps and triceps and shoulders and backs.  I am still feeling that high from my PR from yesterday it definitely lets me know that all the time and training is paying off, I can only get better from here.  I did all my food prep yesterday so that was good, that helps in making sure that I eat all the right thing.  I also made sure to get those BCAA's in to help with my recover because those have seemed to help out a great deal. As I was looking through Facebook this morning I discovered a new app, to claim my race results an d have them all i...

Good Sunday morning to Everyone...  Well I got up and went out there and ran my 5k.  It was definitely a hot one today, I made sure to have my water belt and my water bottles filled I need it today.  Well the first good news is that In June I ran Best Damn Race leftover Race and my time was 37:51, today I ran a 34:13, I was beyond excited at my time.  See the Dog Run was great this morning, the course stayed the same, with just one part the finish line at the end.  I always run with my mom and grandpa(he's 82) by the way, it is great time. I loved shaving that time off my 5k, which means all the hard work extra training I have been doing is paying off, so I can't wait to see what happens with my Hooters to Hooters 10k in two weeks.  I definitely will continue putting my time in and the hard work....  As always stay cool......  3 Generations at the Finish Line  I t was dark when we first arrived at the race spot... My grandpa and...

The Moon was still in the sky

Well it was an early morning run today, up at 5am and out the door by 6:15, I saw the moon and the sunrise.  I will say it was not as hot as it has been, but I tired to take it easy because of my 5k tomorrow.  I did use the Aaptiv app with Ray W. being my coach today with some pretty intense speed intervals.....  I will definitely be trying that you again....  This will be short off to take my son to school and get my numbers....  I will have updates from my race tomorrow.  Looking to set a PR tomorrow wish me luck!!! Stay cool......
